Shelley Levit

Shelley has over 40 years of experience as a Clinical Social Worker. In addition to SW training, she has received additional training in a range of therapy modalities and has had specialized training in the preparation of her role as a clinical supervisor.She has worked with clients of all age ranges, including teens, young adults, and adults throughout the lifespan. She has provided individual, couple, family and group counselling throughout her career. Shelley’s work has emphasized the interpersonal factors as well as individual copings styles in both understanding and affecting change for the people with whom she works. She values a collaborative and supportive approach in her work which also includes gentle challenge to promote reflection and change. Throughout her career Shelley has assisted many who experience anxiety, depression, interpersonal conflict and stress related to family, work and social functioning. She has seen many people suffering from a range of traumatic experiences, both in their child and adulthood and has compassionately assisted them in moving through the impacts of these experiences. She has had a particular emphasis in her work in helping people move through grief and loss, both universal human experiences. Areas of current clinical practice emphasize individual counselling with persons struggling with anxiety, grief/loss, interpersonal stress; relationship counselling; clinical supervision/consultation.
